Technical innovation, extraordinary fit, premium materials and European craftsmanship of the highest quality - these are the hallmarks of a LOWA boot or shoe. Whether it’s a boot made to summit an 8000 meter peak or a multi-sport outdoor shoe for light hiking and casual wear, every LOWA is made to the same set of exacting standards, so you can get the most out of every hike, trek or climb.
In 1923, a Bavarian cobbler named Lorenz Wagner (hence “LOWA”), founded LOWA as a work and outdoor boot company. Ninety-five years later, LOWA has earned a reputation for crafting premium outdoor boots and shoes that blend outstanding quality and fit with innovative design, and has become a global brand that sells in 55 countries. Despite its international reach and position as an industry leader, the company is firmly committed to its Bavarian roots, and is still based in its home village of Jeztendorf, Germany, where it produces the majority of its classic board-lasted trekking and backpacking boots. LOWA continues to manufacture exclusively in Europe, under the world’s most stringent manufacturing, environmental and labor standards.
